About the event
A great extemper should be knowledgeable in history and its relation to the news. This bi-weekly club will help students understand history, international affairs, and current events. Students will develop skills required for competitive Extemporaneous Speech. In an Extemporaneous Speech competition, students prepare for thirty minutes on a question related to current events and then give a seven-minute speech responding to that question. The speech is carefully prepared but not memorized. It requires knowledge, the skills of research, writing, platform, and impromptu speaking skills. Coaching will be provided.
